A NEW running club in Runcorn promises to get you off the couch and running 5k in no time.

Starting in February, Run Sandymoor will host weekly running sessions twice a week on a 9-week bootcamp to get residents achieving the three-mile distance.

The sessions will start on Tuesday, February 13 and are set to take place every Tuesday and Thursday thereafter.

And all levels of runners are invited to join the group which will meet outside Sandymoor Ormiston Academy.

Runcorn dad and organiser Daniel Shannon wants to spread the word and get as many people in the community up and running this new year.

“Our expert trainers will guide you through a carefully structured program, gradually building up your stamina and strength. From brisk walks to jogging, you'll conquer every step of the way,” he explained.

The series will culminate with a virtual or in-person 5K run.

“Crossing that finish line is an incredible accomplishment, and we want to celebrate your success,” he added.

The cost of all the sessions is £20 which covers the C25K training and social membership March 31, 2025 - less than the cost of a coffee every month.

“Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to dip your toes into the world of running, this series is designed for all levels. It's not about where you start; it's about the journey, progress and friends you make along the way,” Daniel said.
