THE annual primary school art exhibition will be officially opened at a Runcorn shopping centre.
An exhibit featuring artwork from more than 40 primary schools across Halton will open in February at Runcorn Shopping City.
Mayor of Halton councillor Val Hill will officially open the exhibition on Monday, February 5.
An official ceremony will be held at 4pm which include a joint school choir performance.
Dave Pearman, manager at Runcorn Shopping City, said the shopping complex has ‘proudly’ hosted the exhibition since 2016, with it being a ‘huge success’ each year.
“Research has shown the incredibly positive benefits of arts and cultural education for young people, including increasing engagement in overall classroom learning and achieving higher academic results,” he explained.
“Further still, studying the arts has been shown to positively impact a child’s emotional wellbeing and future employability as it fosters innovation, empathy and resilience, enriching young lives making them happier and healthier.
“It is so important to encourage pupils to explore their creativity and to help boost their confidence, so we are thrilled to be able to provide a platform to showcase some of the area’s budding artists’ work.”
The exhibition will remain open for residents to visit until Friday, February 23.
Mr Pearman added: “Please do come along and enjoy some the one-off artwork created especially for this showing that we’ll have on display.”
