BOB the Builder is set for an international revamp from none other than Jennifer Lopez.

The cartoon builder was created by Warrington illustrator Curtis Jobling, and was aired on the BBC from 1999 for 12 seasons.

According to reports, Lopez will take the beloved cartoon character and turn the concept into a film that will be based in Puerto Rico.

The main character will instead be called Roberto, and will be voiced by Anthony Ramos, of Hamilton fame.

This announcement comes following the great success of the Barbie film, which was released last summer.

According to Mattel, the Bob the Builder film will 'dig deeper into what it means to build' and will celebrate the Caribbean Latin nations.

The cartoon builder was created by former Penketh High School pupil Curtis Jobling, and he also created Raa Raa the Noisy Lion.

Jobling was also made the patron of a children's charity near Lymm in 2019, the Children's Adventure Farm Trust.

At the time, he told the Warrington Guardian: "I’m tremendously honoured to become a patron of CAFT, a charity I’ve championed for some years now.

“I’ve witnessed first-hand the important work the Adventure Farm delivers to children and families in need of kindness, care and support.

“I fondly recall my first visit - the enthusiasm of the staff, the incredible facilities, and the love they show to their visitors - it gets under your skin.

“Visit once, you’ll be a supporter for life.

“I feel honoured to be included and can’t wait to get more involved on a more regular basis.”
