A BUS caught fire on a road in Widnes during the morning rush hour.
Fire crews are now at the scene at the south end of Moorfield Road in Cuerdley Cross, near the junction with Warrington Road.
Moorfield Road is now closed in both directions, and travellers are being warned of traffic disruptions while the incident is ongoing.
Officers have confirmed there were no passages on the bus.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters are in attendance at a bus fire on Moorfield Road, Widnes, close to the junction of Warrington Road.
“No passengers were on the bus however the road is closed in both directions, so please expect local traffic disruption while the incident is being dealt with.”
