AS the time comes around again for Halton’s Primary Schools to accept a new class of applications, we have summed up the most oversubscribed Primary Schools in Runcorn and Widnes.

14% of Halton’s Primary Schools were oversubscribed last year, with the worst case seeing 30% of applicants turned away.

This data is based on Government statistics covering the number of applicants who placed Primary Schools as their first choice, and how many of these made it in.

The most oversubscribed was Moore Primary School, where they received 43 applications but were only able to accept 30. This means that around 30% of those who applied did not get in.

Next most oversubscribed was St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, with 10 applicants not being accepted. This saw 39 applications sent in for just 29 places.
