CONTACT Centre staff at Halton Borough Council wanted to give something back to the community this Christmas.
In their role, staff see and hear first-hand the impact of the cost of living crisis on people in Halton, and they will always do what they can to help them.
As Christmas is a particularly difficult time, the team decided to carry out a foodbank collection. So, they all donated items and arranged a delivery of two large boxes full of food to Widnes Foodbank to help those most in need.
Council Leader, Cllr Mike Wharton, passed on his thanks.
He said: “While it is an awful situation that anyone in the UK is forced to use a foodbank it is also testament to amazing people like yourselves who help and support those less fortunate.
"So please accept my thanks for what you have done, as I know it will make a real difference to people in our community and bring some joy into their lives in what would otherwise be an impossible and difficult time.”
