A SUSPECTED drink driver has been arrested following a rush-hour crash on an expressway.

At around 5.30pm last night, Tuesday, police were called to reports of a crash on the A558 Daresbury Expressway.

Officers attended and found the incident involved two cars, a silver Ford Focus and a black Audi Q5.

The driver of the focus, a 59-year-old man from Runcorn, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after failing a breath test.

He remains in custody.

At the time of the incident, motorists reported that the expressway was at a ‘standstill’.
