A WIDNES baby group has been nominated for the award of Most Loved Baby Activity in the UK.

Moo Music Widnes was first started by mum Sarah Harris more than five years ago.

Sarah worked to build a safe space for parents and their newborns, delivering fun classes to get babies interacting with the environment around them, while creating a new community for mums in the area.

Moo Music is now run by Sarah and fellow mum Lauren Foster, from Penketh in Warrington.

The pair run their sessions mainly at Kingsway Leisure Centre in Widnes but also host some Wednesday sessions at Halton Lea Library.

On November 30, an awards ceremony will be held in Coventry to announce the winners of the What's On 4 Kids National Children’s Activities Awards.

Moo Music has been nominated by parents who have attended the baby group sessions, for the ‘most loved’ baby activity category and is up against the best in the country.

Speaking on being shortlisted for the award, Sarah said: “I can’t believe it. To get through to the finals in such a huge category means so much to us.

“Lauren and I work so hard to make our classes inclusive, fun and friendly and we are constantly working towards making sure our parents, babies and toddlers are getting the most that they can out of our sessions.

“The fact that so many people must have taken the time out to vote for us means the world to us.”

Sarah and Lauren run classes five days a week and have sessions for newborns, all the way through to pre-school ages.

“It’s the best job in the world and I am extremely lucky to be able to have so much fun at work, and still be able to do the school run and be with my own two young children as much as I can.”

Sarah first started the business when she had her child and was trying to juggle having a career and taking care of her first born.

Since her first sessions back in 2018, the business has grown and flourished, and classes are now regularly booked up.

The awards ceremony has been running for 17 years and celebrate the UK's best children’s clubs, classes, leaders, venues and volunteers, with the experts - parents and carers – nominating and voting for their favourites.

“Looks like it’s time to get glam for the awards. Exciting,” Sarah added.
