AFTER last year’s success, Halton Haven Hospice Twilight Walk is back for 2023 – and it is looking for participants to sign up.

The sponsored walk will help raise vital funds to allow the charity to continue to deliver incredible, end-of-life services to the community.

Each year it costs £2.3million to run Halton Haven, which means £6,301 is needed every day to keep the hospice open.

It is only thanks to the support of residents and local businesses that it is able to raise this money and continue to offer compassionate services.

The 10km route starts at Victoria Park in Widnes at 3pm on Saturday, September 30, taking walkers through Kingsway, over the Silver Jubilee Bridge to Ten Lock Flight pub in, Runcorn for refreshments.

Participants then head back, finishing at Victoria Park with a well-deserved medal.

Tina Gill, fundraising manager at Halton Haven Hospice, said: “We always have fantastic support of our events.

“The Twilight walk is an absolute favourite. Have fun, celebrate a loved one and help raise funds for your local hospice.

“Fancy dress for the event is optional but highly encouraged, and everyone taking part will receive a fabulous medal.

“There will also be memory panels available to write who you are walking for and pin to your top.”

Individual entry costs £10, while under 16s cost £5 and children under five are free.

To register, visit HaltonHavenTwilightWalk2023.eventbrite.co.uk or pay at the hospice reception.

The hospice asks for each participant to raise £50 in sponsorship, with funds raised helping the hospice to continue to provide specialist care to patients and families affected by life-limiting illnesses across Halton.
