Halton has received a major jobs boost after it was revealed delivery company Evri is set to keep operating in the borough for at least the next five years.

Evri, which is the largest dedicated parcel delivery company in the UK, had been operating from Manor Park in Runcorn for the last two years. And it has now signed a new five year deal with FI Real Estate Management (FIREM) to extend its occupancy at the site.

FIREM said Evri's tenure of the 5,085 sq ft unit will see it continue to benefit from open-plan warehouses, offices, car parking and loading areas.

FIREM said it has also commenced a £250k refurbishment of two buildings at Manor Park, totalling 13,000 sq ft. Number 4 Aragon Court is undergoing a full redecoration with a new office fit-out and energy performance upgrades whilst a new roof system is installed at Units 8 & 9 Boleyn Court.

Tim Knowles, founder and managing director of FI Real Estate Management, said: “Commercial property is the beating heart of e-commerce, allowing businesses to fulfil customer needs from every corner of the country.

"Increased demand for online retail in the last few years has led e-commerce partners to seek high-quality units in strategic locations to enable faster delivery times in the instant age."

He added: "I look forward to seeing Evri continue to thrive at Manor Park, strengthening its position as a leader in the e-commerce space."
