A MOTORWAY crash has led to a full block of the M62 after a significant diesel spillage across the carriageway.  

The M62 westbound has been closed at junction seven, Rainhill Stoops, due to a collision that has resulted in a ‘significant diesel spillage’.

According to Traffic England, the event is not expected to be cleared until 1.15 pm at the earliest, with delays of 30 minutes against expected traffic.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the incident, two vans and one car. 

There are no reports of any serious injuries sustained.

North West Motorway Police are on the scene of the collision whilst efforts are made to clear the incident.
