RAIL services on a major line through Runcorn East are facing major disruption after a concrete block fell from a bridge.
The slab is understood to have fallen from a railway bridge on the line between Chester and Frodsham in the Mickle Trafford area, affecting Transport for Wales services.
Passengers have already faced disruption today, Thursday, due to strike action, meaning other rail operators are not running trains.
The incident on the railway bridge was reported this morning and it is understood engineers have been deployed to the scene to remove the concrete slab.
Trains between Chester and Liverpool and Chester and Manchester, through Runcorn East, have been delayed indefinitely until the incident is resolved.
