THE best and worst rated GP surgeries in Halton according to the patients that use them have been revealed for 2023.
The results of this year’s GP Patient Survey have been published this morning, Thursday, after 6,321 questionnaires were sent out to patients at surgeries across the borough.
A total of 1,743 were returned complete in Runcorn and Widnes, demonstrating a response rate of 28 per cent.
The GP Patient Survey measures patients’ experiences across a range of topics, including making an appointment, access to online services and out-of-hours services.
Castlefields Health Centre in Runcorn was named the best in Halton according to patients, with an overall approval rating of 83 per cent.
The best rated in Widnes was Hough Green Health Park, which was given a rating of 73 per cent.
At the other end of the table, two Runcorn surgeries were ranked joint worst in Halton in terms of patient satisfaction, with both having an approval rate of 53 per cent.
The national approval rating across England for 2023 is 71 per cent – a fall from 72 per cent last year.
In total, nine Halton surgeries fell below this mark, while overall 67 per cent of Halton residents were happy with the experience they received from their GP surgery.
