CHILDREN from Halton’s most deprived areas will soon receive a special easter treat this April thanks to a major easter egg appeal.
A generous initiative set up by Merseyflow and Merseylink, the appeal will help hundreds of less fortunate children across Runcorn and Widnes and the easter campaign was kick started with a £1,000 donation given by the two organisations.
Heaps of chocolate eggs from a selection of favoured chocolate brands have gradually congregated at the Merseyflow walk-in centre in Runcorn.
Aquaspeed Drain Service also made a kind donation of 100 Easter eggs.
Denise Caldwell, early help officer with Runcorn Children’s Centres, said: “We’re always astounded by the generosity of the community in Halton and this year has been the largest collection of Easter eggs we’ve had yet.
“I’d like to give special thanks to Merseyflow and Merseylink for continued support and kind donations.
“Every Easter egg donated will be very gratefully received.”
The donations are now ready to be dispatched to the homes of many ready to mark the Easter holiday and brighten the celebration for those who need it.
Marketing manager at Merseyflow, Helen Williams said: “We’re overwhelmed with the amount of donations we’ve received from the public and teams here at Merseyflow and Merseylink and can say that this year’s Easter Egg appeal has been the best one yet.
“We’re pleased to be able to support Halton Children’s Centres and the great work they do for children and families here in Halton.”
