A RUNCORN animal hospital saved a seriously injured dog’s life after it was hit by a car.

A two-year-old Border Terrier called Teddy was left on death’s door after being hit by a car whilst owner Kate Oakley was away.

Teddy ended up on the road when he managed to find a way through a hedge in an enclosed garden. Chasing his favourite ball, he ended up in front of a car, with the driver having no hope to avoid him.

Runcorn and Widnes World:

He was rushed to their local veterinary practice in Powys, however he was later transferred to an animal hospital in Runcorn, Northwest Veterinary Specialists.

Kate said: “Teddy is truly part of the family, and we cannot imagine our lives without him.

“I was away in Italy when the accident happened and was understandably emotional when I saw an unresponsive and extremely poorly Teddy for the first time.

“He was extremely lucky to survive, and my thanks go to the team at Northwest Veterinary Specialists who gave him the best care possible.

“Now he’s playing with his toys, his personality is back and he’s not at all anxious. He even loves the attention he gets with his physiotherapy sessions at the practice.”
