Liverpool John Lennon Airport has been named the joint best airport by Which?.

If you’re expecting to travel this year, Which?’s recent survey could help you find the best airport for you.

Which? asked 7,963 people what their experiences were like when flying from UK airports between July 2020 and July 2022.

While the top airports are small and offer fewer destinations, they’ve been named the best and are considered to give passengers a better experience.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport was the highest-rated airport in the UK but after Which? published its research the airport closed so it has been removed from the list.

What happens if you miss your flight due to airport delays

Two airports, Exeter and Liverpool John Lennon have been given Which? Recommended Provider status. This is the first time ever that two airports have received the status at the same time. The two airports received a customer score of 83%.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport named joint best airport in the UK

Each airport was rated based on its customer score, queues at check-in, bag drop, security and passport control. Airports also received a score for baggage reclaim, seating, staff, prices in shops, range of shops and toilets.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is a smaller hub than Manchester Airport and less than 40 minutes drive away from it.

While smaller airports may fly to fewer destinations, Liverpool John Lennon could be the ideal airport to fly from if you’re travelling to popular places including Barcelona, Rome and Majorca.

The survey results show that passengers managed to park easily and got through check-in and security in no time.

Passengers also had a short walk to the terminal and every queue received a five star rating including passport control.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport received a customer score of 83%, identical to that of Exeter Airport.
