THE Earl of Stamford Morris dancers, a group based in Moore, is looking for new members more than 30 years after their formation.

They say they are “looking for new members, it’s a great way to keep fit, have fun and meet new friends.”

The group was started in Wilmslow in 1982, before moving to Lymm in 1994. Two years later, the Morris dancing group moved to Moore, where they have been based ever since.

They regularly perform at village fetes, Morris days of dance, weddings, and have performed regularly at Lymm Dickensian over the last few years.

Ann, one of their longest serving members, encouraged people to “help us keep local traditions alive. I have been dancing for nearly 40 years and it’s done me no harm.

Sessions take place on Tuesdays, 8pm to 10pm from September to May in the Milner Institute, Runcorn Road, Moore, Warrington WA4 6TX.
