HALTON'S two tips will be open this week after planned strikes were called off.
Veolia, which operates the HWRCs across the Liverpool City Region, had planned to take industrial action from tomorrow, Wednesday, December 28 to Saturday, January, 7 and Sunday, January 15 to Saturday, January 21.
However, a service alert on the Veolia website stated that "planned industrial action was suspended".
The statement added: "Household Waste Recycling Centres in Merseyside and Halton will be open as usual over the festive period - only closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day."
