A HUGE fire in Runcorn has led to several residents being evacuated and 2 people needing attention from paramedics.
After a fire started in a kitchen extension to a house in Dale Street, behind a row of terraced properties, a significant blaze began.
This then spread to an adjoining property neighbouring the extension.
Fire crews were then called in, with engines being deployed from Runcorn, Widnes, Warrington, and Penketh. They were able to stop the fire using water hoses, and evacuated residents in adjacent houses as a precaution whilst they inspected the properties to ensure there was no spread.
Whilst the fire was stopped, there was still smoke damage to several houses.
There were no injuries, however paramedics were called in to deal with 2 people who had experienced smoke inhalation.
Firefighters were on the scene for 3 hours, and Cheshire fire service say the cause was accidental, with it likely being due to an electrical fault.
