A FARNWORTH nursery’s family fundraiser has been described as a ‘huge success’.

The event at Dunky’s Day Nursery was hosted in aid of the Children’s Adventure Farm Trus (CAFT).

It raised £700 in donations for the charity, which helps children with disabilities and life-limiting illnesses from aged 17 and under.

Both the mayor and mayoress of Halton attended the fun day and were able to observe the beautiful transformation the previous St Pius church has taken on to become the now home of Dunky’s Day Nursery.

The nursery now boasts an ‘amazing’ outdoor classroom as well as individual learning pods for the children.Runcorn and Widnes World: Parents and children took part in the activities throughout the dayParents and children took part in the activities throughout the day (Image: Newsquest)

Families piled into the premises to participate in various engaging activities including hook a duck, lucky dips and raffles.

The organisers and nursery employees said: “The event was a huge success and was attended by many families, friends and neighbours.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents and community who supported this event and helped us raise £700 for this amazing charity.”

CAFT charity is based at Booth Bank Farm in Millington and offer a variety of programs catered to children with disabilities, life-limiting illnesses and sensory impairments, as well as children who have experienced bereavement or have been victims of abuse.Runcorn and Widnes World: The fundraiser was put on to raise money for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust. The fundraiser was put on to raise money for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust. Its programmes vary from overnight stays to day trips, with the overall goal to help the children create happy core memories and put a smile on their faces.

The ‘free holiday programme’ allows children to visit and stay at the farm and have access to all the amazing facilities and activities available to do, including experiencing the sensory playroom, arts and crafts, feeding the animals and enjoying the 10 acres of open land.
