A MUCH-loved tradition is set to return this weekend for the first time in three years.

Cheshire Steam Fair will take place at Daresbury Showground on Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10, following a Covid-enforced break since 2019.

Now that virus disruption has all but ended, Warrington and District Model Engineers Society is set to feature at the fair.

Among the attractions, the society is offering rides through the Daresbury countryside on models of famous steam trains such as the Flying Scotsman and the Duchess of Abercorn

There is also a variety of other steam and engine-related fun planned, including classic cars and motorbikes, vintage tractors and stationary engines on display.

In the main arena, the StuntWorld Stunt Show will showcase a mix of motorcycle and quadbike tricks, as well as two-wheel car driving.

However, the truly unmissable event of the weekend comes when Ken Fox and his team perform the Wall of Death.

With such an array of events, lots of trade stands to browse, and a licenced bar and catering stand, the Cheshire Steam Fair looks set to be the perfect family day out.
