A SUMMER festival for all the family takes place in Widnes next weekend.

Halton Haven Hospice have partnered with social space The Barnyards in Widnes to organize a summer festival for all the family to enjoy.

To close the Hospices Forget Me Not Month appeal they have organized Haven Festival which will take place from 11am to 9pm on Saturday, July 2 at The Barnyards by Widnes train station.

This will be a family fun event with live music from local bands, a variety of stalls and refreshments on offer, freshly made food and a bar to enjoy.

Musicians supporting the event include Palacefields Ukulele Group, Becky Tester, Top Monkey, Keith Fielding, Red Monk, The chimps, Snow Wolves and Peach Street.

Community Fundraiser, Tina Gill said: “We are thrilled to be working with The Barnyards to host Haven Festival for the community to come, enjoy and support the incredible work of the hospice.

"With free entry it will certainly be something you won’t want to miss! There are some amazing musicians confirmed, stalls with all you could ask for on offer and delicious food and drink to get stuck in to.”

You can support the Halton Haven Hospice Forget Me Not Appeal by texting FORGETMENOT to 70450 to donate £5.

With less than half of the hospices £2.3m annual running costs coming from government funding, they are hugely reliant on the support of the community to stay open and continue caring for local people who need this specialist care.
