FORMER Saints scrum half Theo Fages will not play for Huddersfield in Saturday's Betfred Challenge Cup final after failing to recover from a calf injury.

Fages, who scored a try and broke his shoulder in his last game for Saints - at Wembley last July - has been a key element in Giants' successful season so far.

Fages aggravated the injury in Huddersfield's 25-4 semi-final win over Hull KR three weeks ago and has not made the 21-man squad for the clash with Wigan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fages' absence increases the chances of 19-year-old Will Pryce - son of former Saints stand off Leon - making his return from a 10-match suspension, although Watson can also call on Australian half-back Jack Cogger.

Pryce has not played since March after being suspended for a dangerous tackle but completed his ban last weekend.
