A MAN who failed to book coronavirus testing on his return from holiday has been handed a large fine by the courts.
Lee Michael Smitth was found to have breached coronavirus travel restrictions at Manchester Airport on February 26 last year.
The 51-year-old, of Hampton Court Way in Widnes, was charged with failing to possess a coronavirus testing package when arriving in England.
This was found to be proved when the case was heard before Tameside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Smitth was ordered to pay a total of £574, broken down into a fine of £440, court costs of £90 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £44.
