SHOCKED residents were woken up by a car crash in the early hours of the morning.
People living in Halton Road in Runcorn heard the noise and commotion shortly after 7.30am on Saturday, May 7.
Residents raised the alarm after a car crashed into a garage and communications box outside a dental surgery.
Police say the car failed to stop.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “The caller reported that a car had collided with a Virgin communication box and a garage sometime in the early hours of Saturday 7 May.
“Following the collision, the vehicle had fled the scene and there were no reports of any injuries.”
The collision has left homes without telephone and internet connections.
Jonathan Westall, owner of Halton Road Dental Practice, said: Several patients and staff members alerted me to the incident that took place in the early hours of Saturday when a car was reported to have hit the garage and communications box outside the practice at very high speed.

“Several patients and staff have expressed concern about the damage and hope that no-one was seriously injured in the crash.
“The phone lines to the cul-de-sac have been cut off which we are concerned may have a serious impact on the business when it re-opens after the weekend.”
Mr Westall said the garage used to belong to the dentist but was sold to neighbours.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing.
Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 quoting IML 1262790.
