DELIVEROO has revealed the most popular takeaway meals ordered by customers in Runcorn and Widnes.

The delivery giant first launched in Widnes a year ago and now has 30 eateries in the town signed up to the platform, with a further 20 restaurants using its services in Runcorn.

It has created work for more than 220 people across Halton, the majority of which have been delivery riders.

And Deliveroo has now revealed the most purchased items on its app in the borough.

In Widnes, the favourite meal was a boneless banquet by KFC followed by a carvery from Toby Carvery.

Third place was a grocery item – namely semi-skimmed milk from the Co-op – with a large meal from Subway in fourth and a curry from the Chestnut Lodge Supper Bar placing in fifth.

KFC was also the winner in Runcorn, where its trilogy box meal was the most ordered dish.

In second was Burger King’s extra-large bacon double cheeseburger meal, with a Warburtons Toastie white loaf from the Co-op in third.

Atmoesphere’s cheeseburger was the fourth most popular item in the town while Oreo cookie dough from the Little Dessert Shop rounding off its top five.

Friday at 7.30pm is the most popular ordering time across Runcorn and Widnes.

Ben Lacey, Deliveroo’s regional director for the UK and Ireland, said: “Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in Widnes and Runcorn over the past year means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue and riders have the opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.”
