A WIDNES student has secured a place on a prestigious programme run by the University of Cambridge.

Euan Jones, an A-level student at Cronton Sixth Form College, will be taking part in the Lucy Cavendish College Academic Enrichment Programme.

The scheme will provide Euan with academic support which will prepare him for university.

This includes discussion groups with current Lucy Cavendish College students which will help to build confidence and will also include career insight sessions to help with progression choices.

It will finish with an intensive ‘bootcamp’ over the summer where Euan will be able to work on university applications with advice from the Admissions team.

The teen said: When I received the offer for the programme, I was delighted that the University of Cambridge saw me as a possible candidate.

“I am now very excited about starting my journey with them.

Euan has taken part in the college’s Tomorrow’s Scientist programme and is involved in the Student Leadership Team – both of which introduced Liam to the Cambridge programme.
