A NETFLIX drama which has been filmed in Runcorn will be released on New Year’s Eve.
Stay Close features stars such as Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt, Richard Armitage, Sarah Parish, Eddie Izzard and Jo Joyner. It is an eight-part series which focuses on mother and bride-to be Megan (Jumbo), and the life and past that she ran away from.
In February, production crews were at Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub in Warrington for a number of days.
And a month later at the back end of March, they took to the Silver Jubilee Bridge in Runcorn for filming.
The bridge, which was closed for up to 10 minutes at a time on March 26, was chosen as producers required an iconic bridge location.
The company agreed to make a donation to the Mayor's Charity in return.
Red Productions – which was also behind Warrington's Ordinary Lies – is filming Stay Close based on Harlan Coben’s New York Times bestselling novel.
Author Harlan said: “I am so happy and excited to Stay Close (pun intended) with Danny Brocklehurst, Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee — the same team that made The Stranger, Safe and The Five.
"And talk about a dream-come-true cast – Cush Jumbo, an incendiary and awesome talent, Jimmy Nesbitt, a legendary actor I always wanted to collaborate with, and wow, Richard Armitage back again."
