POLICE are appealing for information from the public following a crash involving a cyclist on the roundabout of the M62.

The collision involved a cyclist and a red Ford Fiesta on the roundabout of junction nine for Winwick at around 4.55pm on Friday, November 19.

An air ambulance was called to the entry of the M62 westbound.

The cyclist, a 26-year-old local man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He is in a stable condition in hospital.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man from Widnes, was uninjured.

Officers have been conducting numerous enquiries and are appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.

Sergeant Anthony Gallagher, from Cheshire Constabulary’s Serious and Complex Investigation Team, said: “As part of the investigation I am appealing for anyone who saw the collision take place or has information that could assist with our enquiries.”
