FRAUDSTERS are selling faulty televisions from the back of vans across Halton.
The warning comes from Hough Green police after Halton Trading Standards raised the alarm.
One person was duped and bought two televisions only to discover they were damaged.
A spokesman for Halton Trading Standards said: “Unfortunately, a consumer has taken up the opportunity to buy a couple of these TVs for £220.
“However, upon arriving home the consumer has unboxed them to find out they were both smashed.

“As Christmas approaches there are likely to be more of these incidents regarding consumer goods such as toys, electronics and power tools.
“There is a reasonable chance if you are buying goods out of the back of a van that the goods are either stolen, fake, unsafe or in this case broken.”
Anyone who has been caught out by a scam or fraud is urged to contact Halton Trading Standards specialist officers on 0151 511 8785 or 0151 511 8775.
The team is already working with people in Halton who have lost thousands of pounds to scams.
