WARRINGTON Wolves hooker Danny Walker has dedicated his England Knights try against Jamaica to one of his former teammates who recently died.

Liam Walsh played alongside Walker at Widnes Vikings and international level, but the 23-year-old died after being hit by a car on September 18.

Walker left Vikings to join his hometown club Warrington in 2019 and skippered the young England side to a 56-4 victory over Jamaica at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle in Castleford.

After the game, the 22-year-old from Orford said: "I was made up to score and I want to dedicate that try to one of my good mates Liam Walsh who sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago in a freak accident.

"He was a really good lad. I played with him at Widnes and at England Academy and Youth levels. Rest in peace Liam."

Walker scored the second of 10 England tries, crossing from dummy-half at short range after clubmate Matty Ashton had been held up close to the line.
