SAVINGS passbooks printed in Runcorn have been sent all the way to women in Papua New Guinea.
Tall Security Print, based in Runcorn, received an enquiry about savings passbooks from the Eastern Highlands Sista Helvim Sista Association, which aims to encourage and educate rural women.
The Eastern Highlands is a province in Papua New Guinea and 80 per cent of the association’s members are rural women.
Passbooks were issued as part of a government drive to resolve the issue of an ‘unbanked’ population in Papua New Guinea.
The order for the passbooks was placed after the Cheshire Commonwealth Association held a Zoom conference where Keith Scott, the British High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea spoke.
And they have had a big impact on the association and its members, having been launched to fanfare with traditional dance and were received with much excitement.
