TWO suspects from Widnes have been arrested after THREE victims – including boys aged 13 and 14 – were robbed at knifepoint in the street.

The trio of attacks occurred on Whittle Avenue in Warrington at around 3pm yesterday, Wednesday.

In one robbery, the offenders – one of whom was armed with a knife – stole a bike and a watch from a 14-year-old boy.

A second assault saw a 13-year-old boy robbed of his mobile phone.

The attackers then attempted to steal another bike from a 17-year-old boy, but the victim refused – although a quantity of cash was then taken from him.

Two 15-year-old boys, from Widnes, were arrested on suspicion of robbery after officers descended on the area.

They remain in custody today, Thursday.

All of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owners.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At approximately 3pm on Wednesday, October 6, police received reports of three separate robberies on Whittle Avenue.

“In one robbery, the offenders, one armed with a knife, stole a bike and a watch from a 14-year-old boy.

“The second robbery involved a 13-year-old boy being robbed of his mobile phone. The offenders attempted to steal another bike from a 17-year-old boy however the victim refused. The pair then demanded money which they stole.

“Officers swiftly attended to the scene and spoke to the victims involved and enquiries led to the identity of the suspects.

“All the property stolen has since been recovered and handed back to their owners.

“Two 15-year-old boys, both from Widnes, were arrested on suspicion of three robberies and are currently in police custody.”
