OFFICERS are appealing for information following a fail-to-stop collision in Widnes in which a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

At 12.27pm on this afternoon, Saturday, there was a collision involving a mobility scooter and a motorbike on Lower House Lane.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "The rider of the mobility scooter, an 88-year-old local man, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"The male rider of the motorbike, believed to be a blue Piaggio Beverley scooter, fled the scene along with another male riding a fluorescent yellow Raptor quad bike."

Officers were assisted by the police helicopter and are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have information to get in touch.
