A SUSPECT has been charged with murder after the death of a lorry driver in Runcorn.

Miroslaw Iwaniuk was rushed to Warrington Hospital from a transport depot on Astmoor Industrial Estate on Wednesday evening, August 4.

The 50-year-old Polish national was later pronounced dead and three people aged 47, 41 and 44 were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Rafal Seremak, a 44-year-old man from Poland, has since been charged with murder in connection with Mr Iwaniuk’s death.

He is due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court later today, Saturday, in order to face this charge.

The other two men detained by Cheshire Police have since been released.

A force spokesman said: “Detectives investigating the sudden death of a 50-year-old man from Poland have charged a man with his murder.

“On the evening of August 4, Miroslaw Iwaniuk was taken by ambulance from a transport depot at Astmoor Industrial Estate, Brindley Road, Runcorn to Warrington Hospital but sadly died.

“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the lorry driver’s death led to three people aged 47, 41 and 44 being arrested on suspicion of murder.

“A Home Office post-mortem has taken place and next of kin have been informed.

“Following the investigation into the death, Rafal Seremak, 44, of Wolomin in Poland, has been charged with murder and will appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 7.

“The 47-year-old man was released without charge and the 41-year-old man was released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.”
