FUNDING to bring home a Runcorn man on holiday who was always smiling has been hailed as unbelievable by his brother.

Callum Dodd, 25, was notified on Friday morning, July 16, that his older brother, Chris, had died in Malta.

They were quoted £4,500 to bring him home, a figure which they have reached within a day, and Callum has thanked everyone for their support.

“The money raised is unbelievable but just the messages as well,” Callum said.

"Everyone’s messaging me saying ‘if you need bread or milk, we’ll go out for you, we’ll give you anything.

“The amount of people that have reached out to us saying how kind he was, how nice he was and he was always smiling. I’ve not heard one person say anything bad about him so it’s just really nice that everyone’s being super nice to us.

“Everyone’s been unbelievable for us and it’s helped a lot."

Callum, who lives in Halton Brook, has been inundated with messages of support.

One friend hailed Chris as a good lad, funny, cheeky, he'd do anything for anyone and was loved by many.
