A TRAILOR unit that was found on fire in the early hours today (Monday), was believed to had been set alight deliberately in Widnes.
Fire engines from Widnes, Runcorn and Penketh were called to Macdermott Road shortly after midnight after reports of a blaze in the open.
One trailer unit was found well alight.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
The crews then damped down the scene before handing it over to the site owners.
Firefighters left the scene after around one hour and 45 minutes.
It is believed that this fire had been started deliberately.
