A RUNCORN café is proving that businesses can continue to thrive in the wake of the pandemic.

With a wide variety of fresh breakfast and lunch items, as well as piping hot coffees on the menu, Nutty’s Kitchen is now open in the town centre.

Café owner Gary Nuttall originally built up his business during the coronavirus lockdown over on St Michael’s Industrial Estate in Widnes.

Now, he is making the move across the water to Loch Street in Runcorn and opening a space of his own in the town he calls home.

Runcorn and Widnes World:

The dad-of-three shared his delight ahead of opening his business in Runcorn’s historic Old Town.

He said: “It has taken weeks of hard work – and has been months in the making – but we are so excited to be opening up this month and for everyone to come and enjoy what we have to offer.

“It has been a challenging time for every industry out there since the pandemic broke out – and we are very grateful for those that have supported us so far.

Runcorn and Widnes World:

“That being said, with less restrictions in place as we head to the summer, we cannot wait to get started with this next exciting chapter for our small business.”

Groups of up to six – or two households of any size – have been allowed to dine inside at cafes and restaurants across England since May 17.

Gary has thanked loyal customers for their support during the transition – and hopes to welcome plenty of new faces through the door very soon.

Since announcing the café plans several weeks ago, the local businessman has been left staggered by the response.

He added: “There have been so many lovely and supportive comments to all the updates we have been putting out there online, showing what work is going on behind to scenes as we build up our own little space – so we are very positive about opening our doors up soon.

“We are looking forward to being the place you choose to come and enjoy your morning breakfast, a spot of lunch or simply a long-overdue catch-up with friends over a coffee.”
