A CAR caught fire on the Weston Point Expressway in Runcorn.
Crews found the saloon car’s engine bay well alight at around 1.15pm yesterday.
A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.
The car was then damped down to make it safe.
No-one was injured as a result of the fire.
The owner of the vehicle arranged for the vehicle to be recovered.
Firefighters were at the scene for almost an hour.
