WIDNES Vikings ran out 44-6 winners at home to Whitehaven RLFC.
After a tight opening 20 minutes, Vikings broke the deadlock when Brad O’Neill darted over from dummy half.
After a Ste Tyrer penalty, Adam Lawton crossed from 20 metres out giving Vikings a 14-0 lead.
In the second half Danny Craven got the ball rolling with back-to-back tries, the second an outstanding individual effort from inside his own half.
Tyrer's boot made it 26-0.
Jake Bradley scored for the Cumbrians but that was a mere consolation with further scores from Vikings' Will Tilleke, Jack Owens and Lawton's second.
It was a morale-booster for Vikings in front of their home supporters for the first time this season.
