Tranmere Rovers will welcome back thousands of supporters next week for their crunch playoff semi-final first leg against Morecambe at Prenton Park.

And in a move that is sure to curry favour with the Super White Army, most of the lucky attendees will be given free entry.

Following the Government’s Covid restrictions announcement on Monday (May 10), the club has confirmed that a limited number of fans will be permitted to attend the home leg only, on a socially distanced basis, subject to approval by the Safety Advisory Group.

It is anticipated that as many as 3,400 fans will be able to attend the first leg match.

Despite almost the entire season being played behind closed doors, many supporters purchased season tickets anyway, to help support the club financially.

Now Rovers are saying ‘thank you’ to those supporters by offering one free ticket for the match to each season ticket holder.

If there are any seats remaining after the season ticket holders wanting a seat have reserved theirs, they will go on general sale at the usual price.

Season ticket holders will be able to request tickets from 9am tomorrow (May 13) online or by visiting the club store at 9am on the same day.

Season ticket holders will have until 5.30pm on Monday May 17 to claim a seat.

Any remaining seats will go on general sale at 8.30am the following day. All supporters attending the match will be required to bring ID with them.

Tranmere's promotion push took another twist on Tuesday when the club announced that they had sacked first team manager Keith Hill.

Assistant Manager Ian Dawes & Andy Parkinson will take charge of the team for the playoffs.
