Runcorn residents are certainly making the most of a food delivery service since its launch two months.

But the top five on-demand orders with Deliveroo are a little surprising.

Middle Eastern mashawi from Atmoesphere is the most popular dish, closely followed by the boneless chicken banquet from KFC and a bacon double cheese extra large meal from Burger King.

Making a surprise appearance at number four on the list is semi-skimmed milk from the Co-op proving people always need milk for their teas and coffees.

Rounding up the top five is a traditional English breakfast from Lauren’s Coffee Shop.

Deliveroo launched in Runcorn just under two months ago and locals have been placing their at-home delivery orders every day but Friday night at 8.12pm is the hot spot when people are at their hungriest.

The launch of Deliveroo in Runcorn has helped local restaurants reach new customers with 60 per cent of the restaurants listed with company registered as independent businesses and not part of a regional or national chain.

As well as being open to new restaurants joining the Deliveroo team, the company is also on the lookout for new riders following such a positive response to the launch.

A spokesperson for Deliveroo said: “The launch of Deliveroo in Runcorn has helped to create new opportunities for locals with the food-delivery platform looking to add more riders in the town to keep up with customer demand.

“Being a Deliveroo rider is a great opportunity for those who have other commitments, such as existing work or students looking for flexible work to fit around their studies.

“Many riders find it empowers them to keep fit while earning at the same time.”
