HALTON was one of 196 areas of England which saw a fall in coronavirus infection rates over the past week.

In total, 62 per cent of local authority areas across the country saw Covid cases fall, while 109 (35 per cent) saw them rise and 10 were unchanged.

In the seven days up to April 18, 17 Covid-19 infections were recorded in Halton at a rate of 13.1 case per every 100,000 residents – the 231st highest rate in England.

Comparatively, the previous week up to April 11 saw 24 new cases identified at a rate of 18.5.

Data for the most recent four days (April 19-22) has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.

Here is the list in full, reading: rate of new cases in the seven days to April 18; number (in brackets) of new cases recorded in the seven days to April 18; rate of new cases in the seven days to April 11; number (in brackets) of new cases recorded in the seven days to April 11.
