POLICE say a driver was racially abused at McDonald's in Widnes.

Officers say between 3.50pm and 4.10pm on Sunday, February 28 two cars were in the queue at the drive thru on Moor Lane when a verbal roiw took place between the drivers.

It is believed one of them made a racially aggravated comment towards the other.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage is urged to contact Cheshire Police.

PC Andy Collict said: “We take all reports of hate crime extremely seriously and will act on any incidents of this nature.

“A number of enquiries are under way in relation to this incident and as part of these enquiries we are looking to speak with anyone who may have caught dashcam footage in the Moor Lane area at the time of the incident.

“The same goes for anyone who may have witnessed the altercation and could help us with our investigation.”
