TWO men from Cronton have been arrested after police seized more than £20,000 in cash, as well as drugs, vehicles and designer clothing.

This follows an incident in Whiston yesterday afternoon, Sunday.

At around 5pm, Merseyside Police officers on Hall Lane stopped a man riding an electric bike, for which he could not prove ownership.

A subsequent search of the man's home address led to the discovery and seizure of more than £20,000 cash, suspected cocaine and heroin, paraphernalia and cars.

The suspected stolen bike was also taken, as well as expensive Louis Vuitton and Hugo Boss clothing and footwear

A 20-year-old man and a 58-year-old man, both from Cronton, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and the acquisition/use/possession of criminal property.

They have been taken to a police station for questioning.

Detective chief inspector Simon Vaughan said: “Our enquiries continue and both men will be questioned.
