FIREFIGHTERS rescued two cats from a house fire in Runcorn yesterday, Saturday.
Shortly after 3pm, crews from Runcorn and Widnes attended Leaside in Halton Brook, where they found a property with a fire on the ground floor.
No-one was unaccounted for.
Firefighters extinguished the flames using two hose reel jets and rescued two cats.
The cats were given oxygen before they were taken to a vet.
Once the fire was out, crews used a large fan to clear smoke from the house.
In a separate incident at 12.30am this morning, Sunday, crews were called to a fire in the kitchen of a flat in Worcester Court.
The fire is believed to have been started accidentally after a tea towel was left too close to a hob.
