Covid cases are falling in Warrington, latest figures show

The borough had 1,452 new cases recorded in the seven days up to January 11 - the equivalent of 691.4 cases per 100,000 people.

This is down from 1,651 new cases in the seven days to January 4.

The situation in Warrington reflects a pattern nationally with 88 per cent of areas in England seeing a fall in cases. 

In the latest data, Knowsley has the highest rate in England, with 1,989 new cases - the equivalent of 1,318.4 cases per 100,000 people.

Data for the most recent four days (January 12 to 15) has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.
