THREE suspects have been charged after a cannabis farm was discovered in a disused pub in Runcorn.

Police raided the Tricorn in Palacefields shortly after 3pm on Saturday, January 9, and discovered a ‘large quantity’ of the class B drug inside the boarded-up building.

Equipment used in order to cultivate the plants was also seized by officers as they executed a search warrant.

Three men – 24-year-old Erjoni Ramaj, of no fixed address, 24-year-old Tafil Ramaj, of Surrey, and 20-year-old Alensio Rucaj, of Kettering – were arrested at the scene.

The trio have since been charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis and appeared before Warrington Magistrates Court via video link on Monday, January 11.

They will now appear before Chester Crown Court on Monday, February 8, and have been remanded into custody until that date.
