A NEW restaurant is set to be open in Stockton Heath.

Plans have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council to reopen the former Little Box of Treats site.

The award-winning Chinese closed last month after a decade of serving popular meals.

Now plans are to reopen the Walton Road eaterie as a Bangladeshi restaurant.

The blueprints say downstairs will be used for diners with the kitchen kept upstairs.

The new restaurant will also operate as a takeaway.

Sue Kelly, a former Woolston High School, ran Little Box of Treats and decided to close in order to start a new chapter in her life.

She said: ""How quick has the year gone! It wasn’t how we pictured our final year in the village but we somehow managed to survive.

"Thank you for all the wonderful gifts, cards and kind words, I am going to miss all of you so much, I’ll miss all our chats and updates.

"Thank you for supporting me over the past 10 years, we literally owe our success to you, Thank you for all my hard working staff, each one has been brilliant to work with."
