FIREFIGHTERS remain on the scene this morning after a huge fire broke out at a barn last night.
Up to 20 vehicles were set alight after fire broke out at the site on Joy Lane in Bold Heath, off Clock Face Road, at around 10.30pm on Monday.
Eights crews attended the incident, and were on scene by 10.45pm – discovering a fire measuring around 20ft by 30ft.
Nearby residents were reportedly evacuated from their homes while firefighters tackled the blaze.
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said this morning: “Firefighters have continued fighting the fire, believed to involve up to 20 vehicles in the barn, throughout the night.
“The incident has now been scaled down significantly, but firefighters remain on scene to ensure it is fully extinguished.”
